ITALIAN SUMMER COOKING CLASSES WITH AMANDA CORDONY, FOOD EDITOR OF THE AUSTRALIAN HOUSE & GARDEN.

I’m thrilled to share with you my 2024 events, where I’ll have the pleasure of creating, cooking, and grazing with an intimate group of guests.

Our Italian Summer cooking classes are especially close to my heart with my Italian and Maltese heritage. They are designed to celebrate the essence of Mediterranean food and showcase how to prepare simple yet impressive dishes perfect for sharing and entertaining. Drawing inspiration from my recent family adventure in Italy, these classes will transport you to the heart of a Mediterranean summer.

During our interactive 3-hour session, I’ll guide you through crafting beautifully simple meals that not only taste amazing but also look spectacular. You’ll experience firsthand the vibrant flavours and effortless elegance of Italian food.

The event kicks off with a personal meet and greet with me, Amanda Cordony, setting the stage for a memorable day. As you arrive, enjoy a selection of fine drinks and canapés, creating a perfect start to our cooking adventure.

The main event is an intimate cooking demonstration where you and your fellow guests will work in pairs, learning to prepare Italian dishes. I’ll be on hand throughout for a Q&A session, offering personalised tips and insights to elevate your cooking experience.

To complement our cooking experience, indulge in a showstopper grazing table featuring an array of antipasti, appetisers and sweets. This stunning spread will be the centrepiece of our gathering, showcasing the best of seasonal Italian food.

2 classes - Friday 1st of November - 10:00 am - 1:00 pm OR 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm

2 classes - Saturday 2nd of November - 10:00 am - 1:00 pm OR 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm

The Crows Nest venue exact location will be communicated to guests via email, seven days before the event.

The format for cooking classes will be as follows:

  • Personal meet & greet by Amanda Cordony

  • Drinks and canapés on arrival 

  • Lucky door prize

  • An intimate cooking demonstration with all guests participating in pairs

  • Q&A throughout 

  • A showstopper grazing table featuring antipasti/ appetisers / sweets

These cooking classes are tailored for beginners and intermediate home cooks.

MENU - WHAT WE ARE COOKING

Baked ricotta with sun-dried tomato and herb salsa - Amanda will be demonstrating with guests to assist

Roasted tomatoes with cherry vinaigrette, lemon balm - guests will be cooking in pairs

Fennel, ruby grapefruit, fried sage leaves - guests will be cooking in pairs

Candied lemon and basil tiramisu - Amanda will be demonstrating with guests to assist

Cannoli making for all guests... and eating - FUN!

Maximum of 18 guests per class.
